Basic Checklist for Second Hand Vehicles

I've learned today during my conversation with Amir our driver for over 3 years now that when the meter of a car exceeded/ reached to 300,000 mileage it indicates that it must be replaced or sold out as the best life cycle of it have already consumed. He learned it when he was working on rent-a-car company wherein he used to drive luxury BMW's.

Some third world countries still has cars running with 800,000 mileage but its already dangerous as you'll encounter more problem related to its mechanism. Thus, second hand owners will incur consistent technical fuss which means more money goes to the sink. As for the replacement of wheels he added, it is best to replace it every 6 months.

For a neophyte like me, its beneficial to know this basic considerations, more so to those people interested to buy second hand vehicles.

When in Oman

We had a scheduled Board Meeting in Dibba Oman for a day. Although, the itinerary changed completely after the arrival of the director. We stayed two days instead. Since the reservation has been made for a day only, and huge amount of guest are due to arrived. We have no choice but to seek other accomodation which the hotel have assisted us.

We stayed in a nice simple villa, its accomodation for divers. There where plenty of available rooms which we where happy. Its simple and clean. All thebasic amenities are there.

Also, during the shifting we actually aren't done with the meeting yet, so we really had to find another shelter. The boss was amazingly creative. He wouldn't take no or absurd reason not to make it happen.

It happened. We've stayed in Nomad, it suprisingly gaves us ideas of simplicity because we happen to talk about cost cutting. There, my colleagues on the finance department has been called out to discuss with the boss. Not affiliated with the topic, I went out on the common area and started a conversation with the one seating there.

She's from Durban, South Africa. She's working in Abu Dhabi and came to Dibba-Oman to have her diving. It's her second attempt she said. I didn't ask what exactly her job was because I have seen that she went there not to talk about work. I was sharing too my adventures with her and she said she has had fellow diver, a Filipino who shared a magnificent story with her about the experience undersea in the Philippines.

I felt we are no longer stranger, the discussion became open and you wouldn't feel any insincerity at all. She said she travelled in many places and went to Dubai all by herself, she met few people that took her into diving that is why she's there. She is the living proof of independence. She too shared places to visit in Durban.

Talking for sometime already, I asked her what is it that she seek in life? She stopped, think for a while.... then she said it seems an easy question but a hard one to ponder. Afterwards, she narrated that she wants to get as many experience as possible. She doesn't accept regret and life is very short.

Then, I went on to how I overcome the fear of heights. I came to try lots of bungee jumping and zipline.

She interject that I must try Sky Diving. She then recalled her thrilling experience in Sweden. She was sooo energetic getting back the experience for me to invibe. She continued that she didn't breath at all during the leap and the instructor let her manuever the parachute. She never thought she would still be alive after that, and she conquered it.

The amazing thing about all the above was that that I went to Oman but I get to travel to Sweden and Durban too.
